Hi! My name is Katie Durr and I am so excited to be teaching 7th grade math at Sagewood this year!!!

This is my 10th year teaching and my 1st year at SGMS. I started my teaching career in Texas and have taught 6th grade Math and Science, and 6th-8th grade Math Intervention. When we moved to Colorado in 2020 I taught 6th grade Math for the DCSD eLearning students and last year I taught 4th grade at Gold Rush Elementary. While it was a great experience to try out elementary, I really missed the middle schoolers and teaching just math.

I was born and raised in Michigan and went to Michigan State University (Go Green!). At MSU I played trumpet in the Spartan Marching Band and the Spartan Brass and got to travel all over the country with the sports teams. After college I moved to Austin, TX and began a teaching career shortly after. I lived in Texas for 12 years before my family and I decided it was time to move to the great state of Colorado! I have 3 children; Charlotte (8), Wyatt (6), and Milly (4). We also have 2 amazing dogs; Penny (Red Lab) and Queso (Golden Retriever).

I truly believe that this year is going to be great! I look forward to meeting you all and enjoying a great year.
