Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year at Gold Rush Elementary! My name is Heather Burggraff and I am so excited to be your child’s 5th grade teacher. This is my 16th year of teaching 4th-6th grades and my 3rd year teaching at Gold Rush. It is my goal to make your last year at Gold Rush be the best it can be!

Our family moved to Colorado three years ago and we are proud to call Parker our home. My husband, David, retired last year after 27 years of uniformed service in the Navy and continues to work for them as a civilian. We have two boys, Dawson is starting 2nd grade and Davis is starting Kindergarten. All three of us are excited about this upcoming year!

I am passionate about teaching and learning! We will have so much fun this year with a focus on being thoughtful, collaborative, and creative. My goal is to help all students succeed academically, socially and emotionally in an environment that is engaging, safe and fun. This is also a pivotal time for fostering independence and encouraging responsibility for all students as they prepare for middle school.

I would like to get to know a little more about your child before school begins. Please email me an introduction letter about your child. This letter might include interests (both in and out of school), strengths, needs, learning style, motivators, a little bit about your family and/or anything else to help me get to know and best support your child.
